Tenant insurance is dedicated for people who rent an apartment or house from others, i.e. act as tenants. As part of simpl.rent, together with PZU, we offer 3 insurance packages: Basic, Plus and Extra, which include different scope of protection.
What does the tenant insurance cover?
Depending on the package chosen, the tenant insurance covers different types of insurance. Most importantly, each of the packages includes the Tenant liability insurance, which will cover i.a. damage accidentally caused by the tenant, household members or a pet in the rented apartment.
Who can report damage under the tenant insurance?
Both the insured party and the injured party can report the damage within a maximum of 7 days from its occurrence or discovery. In the case of a report by the injured party, the insurer will request a statement from the person who caused the damage.
Reports should be made directly to PZU, the insurance company. This can be done in various ways:
Disbursement instruction for compensation for damaged property issued by the property owner
Statement from the person responsible for the damage, information regarding the circumstances of the damage and any fault (accepted in electronic form with the contact number of the person responsible for the damage)
Detailed information about the property when not indicated in the ownership confirmation document (e.g., in the case of a damaged television, it would include details about the model/purchase date)
